En 1956, Tom Jenning, le fondateur de Jennings Musical Instruments, a découvert un prototype d’ampli guitare, fabriqué par Dick Denney. Un an plus tard le premier modèle VOX nommé AC1/15 sort en 1957 qui est rapidement utilisé par The Shadows et d’autres groupe de rock n’roll. Depuis lors, VOX redynamise sa production et sort une gamme variée d’ampli puissant, de guitares à la simple allure. La marque a élargi sa production par des effets guitares et divers accessoires et un tout nouveau clavier VOX continental, une réédition de l’orgue à transistors apparu dans les années 1960 mais plus moderne et innovant.
